Chapter 5: Selection & Interfaces
Core product selection guide, interface logic diagrams, and product function comparison tables
5.1 Core Product Selection
Product selection for LPR/ANPR systems must be driven by scenario requirements, not by price alone. The selection process follows a structured evaluation framework that scores candidate products against weighted criteria including recognition accuracy, environmental rating, interface compatibility, vendor support quality, and total cost of ownership. The following product showcase presents the core product categories and their key differentiators.

5.2 Interface Logic and Wiring
The interface logic diagram defines the electrical and logical connections between all system components. Understanding interface compatibility is critical for avoiding integration failures during installation. The diagram covers power interfaces (PoE, 12VDC, 24VAC), signal interfaces (RS-485, relay, GPIO), and communication interfaces (Ethernet, RS-232, USB).

5.4 Interface Compatibility Matrix
Before finalizing product selection, verify interface compatibility between all system components. Incompatible interfaces are the most common cause of integration failures and project delays. The matrix below identifies the critical interface compatibility requirements for each component pair.
